Chawathil First Nation

This is an example of forest fuel loading. This picture shows three logs suspended off the ground and hanging in mid-air. In this specific case, Chris George the chainsaw operator bucked the logs into chucks to a point where all the log fiber was scattered and laying flat on the ground. This picture was taken in December of 2014.

Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) 2013

During 2013, the Chawathil First Nation hired Robin B. Clark, RPF to develop a Community Wildfire Protection Plan. This Plan was funded through the Provincial Strategic Wildfire Prevention Initiative (SWPI). Chawathil First Nation worked closely with the First Nations' Emergency Services Society (FNESS) of British Columbia to see the project to success. The Chawathil First Nation Fuel Management Project and Operational Fuel Treatments was successfully completed in December of 2014.
